Donbas Public Television was a project initiative led by Donbas journalists aimed at establishing a public multimedia platform, active from 2014 to 2018. Its core aim was to establish a public multimedia platform that swiftly disseminated objective and unbiased information regarding political, economic, and social developments to Donetsk region residents, all without censorship.
The project encompasses a range of formats, including the daily release of Donbas News (five times a week), a weekly two-hour talk show named Media Maidan, and another weekly two-hour program known as “Donetsk Dialog.” The latter provided a platform for activists, opinion leaders, and public figures from the region to engage in live discussions, collaboratively addressing pressing issues. Additionally, there were talk show series like “Line of Contact” and the documentary series “Generation D,” among others.
The project concluded in 2018, and the Donbas Public Television YouTube channel underwent a rebranding, becoming Donbas News.
